Our Experience Team is seeking a manager who is used to advocating for strategic approaches and tailoring solutions to meet client priorities and user needs. We’re looking for someone who’s seen their share of website redesigns from kickoff-to-launch and knows how to address common challenges in User Experience (UX) and Information Architecture (IA) as well as Content Strategy. And we’re seeking out someone who has experience pulling together and leading multidisciplinary teams.
This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, a high degree of professionalism, independent judgment, organizational skills, the ability to multitask, superb Microsoft Suite application skills, and flexibility as demands and priorities change. This role is currently remote. After COVID, you’ll have the opportunity to choose whether you’d like to remain remote, work out of an ICF office, or select a hybrid option.What You’ll Be Doing
+ Leading a group of junior- to mid-level Content Strategists within the ICF Next Government Experience Team
+ Tailoring content strategy approaches for projects that may range from websites to chatbots to text programs
+ Developing workplans and providing guidance on technical approaches for incoming work
+ Conducting intake meetings with project managers and/or clients to gather requirements and understand their unique needs
+ Gaining buy-in from internal and external stakeholders on your recommended approaches
+ Working as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Content Strategists, UX Designers, Writers, Editors, Developers and more
+ Guiding IA improvement efforts and implementing data-driven, user-centric taxonomy systems
+ Creating or migrating content within various Content Management Systems including working within stage and production environments
+ Developing written reports and plans
+ Leading internal and client presentations
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ Excellent Microsoft Office skills
+ 5+ years’ experience in Content Strategy
+ Ability to create documentation and plans (e.g., inventories, audits, migration plans, governance, and specifications)
+ Implement data-driven approaches to improving content and IA
+ 2+ years’ experience as a manager, team lead, or comparable role
+ Knowledge of best practices for writing for the web
+ Experience serving as a trusted advisor for a team by advocating for user-centered best practices while remaining responsive to the client’s needs and priorities
+ Strong consultation skills
+ Team building skills such as experience as a task lead, manager, or team lead
+ Ability to split work between teammates according to a project plan to ensure deadlines and milestone dates are met
+ Proactive communication skills that include being able to identify potential risks and propose mitigation solutions
+ Strong oral and written communication skills
+ Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
+ Customer service focused with the drive to solve tough problems
+ Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
+ Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude
+ Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in Public Health or other federal civilian agency work
+ Strong understanding of User Experience best practices and when to apply them
+ Experience facilitating client-facing activities such as workshops, listening sessions, stakeholder interviews, and card sorts
+ Experience with the US Web Design System (USWDS) or pattern libraries
+ Experience with web analytics, especially Google Analytics, Search Console, and Data Studio
+ Familiarity with compliance requirements for the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act (IDEA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
