The Cardiovascular Lab is currently recruiting for a Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to work Day shift 4 ten hour days including one weekend day. The successful candidate is responsible for rotating on-call schedule covering off hours and weekends.
To perform cardiac ultrasound procedures.
Documents patient's clinical history and technologist impressions of the images obtained on exam request forms.
Assists the cardiologist with obtaining images and equipment operation during transesophageal and stress echocardiography.
Reviews Xcelera images with the interpreting cardiologist before final interpretations are completed.
Reports to the Technical Director in a timely manner any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards or safety violations that may cause injury to one-self, other employees, patients and visitors.
Assists in the instruction of cardiac ultrasound students and Cardiology Fellows during their practice performance at Christiana Care.
Associate degree from an accredited school of cardiovascular technology
Must be registry-eligible and sit for registry and become RDCS/RCS within the first 12 months of employment.
Must be either ARDMS (RVCS) or RDCS certified.
Certification in CPR.
Experience with saline and definity contrast; transesophageal echo, stress echo, dobutamine stress echo and adult echo required.
Willingness to be trained in IV placement and administration of contrast agent.
