The Department of Nursing Quality and Safety is seeking a Part Time Administrative Assistant II to provide administrative support to the Department of Nursing. Although this position will focus on administrative support, this position will also provide administrative services related to policy and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs a variety of clerical and administrative functions such as answering phones, scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, spreadsheets, reports and other documents, ordering supplies and photocopying documents.
Maintains Director's calendar of appointments, meetings and travel itineraries and coordinates related arrangements
Assists with budget preparation, scheduling, reporting and tracking information
Prepare and distributes agendas and minutes of meetings
Coordinates office activities, communicating messages as needed.
Assists with data requirements and data bases as needed.
Demonstrates a sound knowledge base of appropriate departmental and hospital guidelines/policies.
Coordinates communication between all levels of the health care team effectively, utilizing both written and verbal communication skills.
Operates department computer system and other equipment in an accurate and safe manner.
Maintains a positive attitude of helpfulness, courtesy, and cooperation toward employees, physicians, other hospital personnel, other health care providers, and the general public.
Protects confidential employee or patient information at all times.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Performs other related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Four years progressively responsible clerical or secretarial experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, but must include at least two years of appropriate experience.
