Human Resources LOA Operations Specialist
Responsible formanagingthe overall LOA process. Provides information, interpretation, guidance,and consultationon escalations that may arise as a result of anLOA. Collects, organizes, interprets, and verifies internal customer needs andtranslates them into business policies, procedures,and practices.Responsible for vendor oversight on all cases to ensure program compliance with state and federal regulations as well ascompany policies. Enhances the overall Leave of Absence customer experience by providing excellent, efficient, andcourteous service. Manages day-to-day vendor activities,including data governance and quality initiatives.
Effectively manages highly complex LOA-escalated cases from all levels within theorganization and Human Resources. Responsible for all aspects of complex ADA process andoutcomes in association with Leave of Absence,including interactive dialogue with employee,manager, and employee relations representative. Partners closely withthevendor, manager,employee relations, and legal (as needed) to evaluate and research issues regarding complexLOA cases. Serves as a resource to local management in addressing LOA matters. Coaches andprovides guidance to non-exempt team members regarding standard LOA cases.
Strengthensthealignment between Discover and vendor processes to achieve greater efficiencyand lasting effectiveness. Engages in status calls with vendors to monitor metrics andimprove quality. Standardizescommunication methods between Discover (employee,manager, and HR) and vendors to improve response time and quality. Meets regularly withvendors to identify root causes of case management errors, address gaps,and improvedprocesses.
Responsible for auditing leave records to ensure accuracy,resolving escalated payrollinquiries,and worksclosely with payroll to ensuretheLOA components oftheemployee'spay isaccurate. Responsible for ensuring PTO, PPL,and LOA time is properly reflected inthetimekeeping system through regular audits. Validates workday status while on leave byutilizing zero hours report and security reports and make updates as necessary. Serves asthe subject matter expert of the daily vendor files,including payroll, status,and eligibilityfeeds. Responsible for any updates to leave-related vendor files and workswith Workday,Vendor,and HRIS to ensure feeds are timely and accurate.
Leads ongoing procedure development and maintenance to ensure compliance with legal andDFS standards.Responsible for maintaining central repository of all internal and vendor-relateddocumentation. Responsible for assessing and improving LOA-related content onmyHRaswell as correspondence withthevendor. Drives consistency intheHR approach and practices withinvarious locations. Identifies process improvement opportunities within LOA delivery, bothinternally and externally, and moves them into production. Participates in cross-functionalprocess improvement initiatives and projects to drive the achievement of business results.

H.S. Diploma or GED
Bachelor's DegreeinHuman Resources, Business Administration, or relatedfield
6+ yearsof experience inHuman Resources,or relatedfield
