The Role

Lumen is looking for an Azure experienced Cloud Solution Consultant for pre and post sales Architecture and Design activities. The Cloud Solution Consultant drives the Azure-based target architecture design and works with the customer, the Cloud Engineers, as well as other Lumen teams to deliver the solution.

The Main Responsibilities

+ This position is a highly technical, customer facing role that is accountable for architecting the end-to-end customer cloud solution and design as well as assisting in the deployment experience.

+ This includes but is not limited to discovery activities, architectural design sessions, input on level of effort for consumption, features, and consulting services labor as well as input into the project delivery planning and support during the customer implementation delivery.

+ The ideal candidate will have previous experience in customer facing roles and success leading deep technical architecture and application design discussions with senior customer executives to drive cloud solutions.

+ Five or more years of real-world project experience with architecture, design implementation and/or support of distributed applications designed to run in the Azure cloud or across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.

+ Proven project delivery experience, in architecting and designing cloud solutions and deployment of projects in Azure required.

+ A computer science or related engineering or technical degree is required.

+ Windows Server (2003 /2008/2012) & Desktop (7/8/10)

+ Active Directory / Group Policy / DHCP / DNS / DFS

+ Microsoft Exchange Server 2010/2013 / Office 365 design and engineering experience

+ Microsoft Lync Server 2013 & Skype for business

+ Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2010/2013 backend design & implementation

+ Microsoft SQL Server engineering knowledge

+ Windows scripting – PowerShell / VBScript

+ Disaster recovery strategies

+ Strong understanding of virtualization concepts and technologies

+ Strong documentation & communication skills

+ Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

+ A broad range of technical skills with a strong desire to constantly expand skillset

+ Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete goals independently

+ Must be a team-player

Qualifications & Skills:

+ Bachelors degree or equivalent education and experience with typically 8+ years Enterprise level support and design experience. Strong experience in operations and application administration & design

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Certifications:

Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate or foundational certifications with other cloud experience.

Project Experience:

+ 5-8 years of project experience designing and delivering Azure cloud solutions on an enterprise scale.

+ 5+ years of experience with creating pilots, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts to provide validation of specific scenarios.

+ 4-6 years of experience providing cloud solutions, including hybrid solutions on-premises or in the cloud, lift and-shift initiatives, migrations, and upgrades.
