Our work depends on a Full Stack Developer joining our team to support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) activities in Columbia, MD. This position offers the opportunity to work 100% remote anywhere nationwide. Occasional travel to the customer site may be as needed.

As a Full Stack Developer supporting CMS, you will be trusted to provide backend (and frontend) development support of the CMS Enterprise Portal. You will provide best practices to design single-page architecture (SPA) applications and microservices using cutting edge and open-source technologies, including Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Node.JS, RESTful, HTML5, Angular, JavaScript, Google Analytics, Tealium and AWS technologies. You will work in an Agile development environment to support short sprints and rapid delivery of releases. In this role, a typical day will include:

+ Developing state-of-the-art systems that enhance the existing commercial and in-house developed software by adding web-services’ capabilities

+ Developing RESTful services which will be hosted on AWS

+ Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code

+ Designing and implementing low-latency, high-availability, and high-performance applications that adhere to security and data protection requirements

+ Participating in the PI Planning and SAFe Iteration ceremonies

+ Actively collaborating with the cross functional teams, such as Requirements, Testing and Infrastructure teams

+ Proactively planning daily development activities, estimating detail design and development efforts, and adhering to development timelines specified by the schedule


+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

+ 4+ years developing RESTful services, using NodeJS or J2EE

+ 2+ years Angular 7 or higher, with excellent debug skills

+ Proven experience in designing, developing, testing, troubleshooting and integrating microservices into large applications

+ Experience with related caching APIs (such as Redis or Varnish) and Relational databases (Mysql, Postgres, etc.)

+ Proven experience with Spring Boot, developing and deploying in serverless environments

+ Experience with JavaScript and JavaScript related utilities

+ Experience with distributed version control systems such as GitLab/GitHub/BitBucket

+ Experience with Google Analytics with Tealium iQ Tag Manager or comparable tool

+ Experience and/or knowledge of Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban, and tools such as JIRA

+ Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance and must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years


+ US citizen or a Green Card holder

+ Proven oral and written skills to communicate with external and internal stakeholders effectively

+ Experience with CMS or Health Care organization

+ AWS certification(s)

+ SAFe certification(s)

+ Experience with build/SCM tools such as Maven, ANT, NPM preferred

+ Experience with Unix/Linux

+ Experience with continuous delivery and integration tools: Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc.
