Department Description

Firmwide Data Management (FDM) was created with the mission to help improve the quality, integrity, and reliability of the firm’s data. The organization’s objectives are to deliver business impact through fit-for-purpose data, improve data capabilities across LOBs and Firmwide, implement data controls, and deliver reference data. FDM establishes firm-wide expectations that drive consistent data governance practices, develops technologies and processes to support data governance capabilities, partners with various Lines of Businesses to embed data governance best practices and capabilities, and ensures sustainability by refining, measuring, and improving the firm’s ability to manage data. One of the critical domains in Firmwide Data Management is the Internal Party Domain that maintains the Legal Entity Management System.

Legal Entity Management System partners with cross-functional stakeholders to delivery FDM core capabilities for Critical Business Initiatives (CBIs). The capabilities include adherence to various Domestic, US Federal and Global Compliances and internal reporting for Legal Entity Structuring, Rationalizing and Merging or Amalgamation. Data Rationalization is one of the major initiatives being undertaken in Legal Entity Management Systems as part of FDM core delivery which includes analyzing, measuring and improving Data Quality and implement Operational changes as permanent remediation measures.

Job Description

This is a multi-hatted position in “Wall Street’s Biggest Data Management project” as per CDOReview, at JPMC to execute Data Domain Steward Responsibilities in accordance with the Firmwide Data Management standards while being a key player in ensuring efficient day to day Operations and Incident Management services for Legal Entity Management Systems. The incumbent will have to be well-versed in business and data analysis, tracing data lineage, root cause analysis and implementing data quality rules.

Responsibilities

+ Work closely with all stakeholders including business leads, technology, and various Lines of Businesses; aiming to leverage best practice across the industry and JPMC Firmwide Data Quality standards to establish the successful Data Quality Operational model.

+ Conduct Data Analysis, Create Data Quality business rules and implement Operational model changes where applicable.

+ Liaise with Business leaders and Product Owners to define specific data element business terms in Firmwide Data Glossary platform.

+ Co-ordinate with business process stakeholders to ensure that proper business context and impact are considered in discussions regarding specific data elements.

+ Collaborate with business owners to maintain and process the firm’s strategic Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) process up-to date.

+ Serve as primary contact point in supporting resolution of incident management issues for our business users

+ Independently handle user inquiries/issues and resolve in a satisfactory manner for the end user

+ Monitoring and managing queue in ServiceNow

+ Participate in Daily Production issue call with Reference Data Technology and provide update to end users

+ Review and finalize documentation for team and end users

+ Publish daily/weekly/monthly metrics and KPIs to PRD Senior Management on issues/inquiries

+ Contribute to on-going Data Management and BAU projects through the Software Development Cycle when required and create the Standard Operations Procedure documentations library, as required.

+ Ensure adherence to all service level commitments, controls and escalation policies.

+ Demonstrate customer focus and strong follow-up skills.

Experience and Qualification

+ 3 to 5 years of Financial Services Industry experience, preferably in Legal Entity Management systems, or Investment Banking with experience in Agile Software Development projects.

+ 3 years of experience in Incident Management Level 1 or Level 2 Support services in Financial Services Industry, with knowledge in Workflow Management systems.

+ 3 years of experience in Data Analysis including identifying the data lineage and/or have worked in Data Governance initiatives – Reference Data Management, Data Quality, Data Architecture or Data Warehouse projects.

+ 3 years of experience in Business Analysis, Data Modeling principles and Creating Source to Target Mapping documents.

+ Working knowledge in Database, ETL and Business Intelligence reporting technologies – SQL Server, Oracle Pl/SQL, Business Objects, Tableau and Informatica Data Quality (IDQ).

+ Proficient in MS-Office suite of products.

+ Business knowledge in Legal Entity Management systems is a plus.

+ Working knowledge in AI platforms is an added advantage for this role.

+ Bachelor degree with preference in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.

Working Hours

+ The incumbent will be required to operate flexible working hours to cover late starts and/or late finishes, as well as, weekend Production releases activities to support our business partners.
