Duties: The Senior Cost Accountant at Hologic. Inc in Newark, DE will complete in depth financial investigation of company plants by analyzing manufacturing process, system and financial flows, profit and loss, planning, and data. Review plant financial reporting in profit and loss statements. Develop cost models and package for financial analysis and KPI. Define cost by variable, fix and variable overheads using knowledge of plant processes for management to have visibility for plants productions in the cost recovery, wastage, assets utilization and direct labor costs. Develop rates and standard cost process for burden rates for inventory valuation, pricing and financial analysis, price variance, exchange rates, plant material efficiencies usage based on historical and future expected costs. Ensure standard inventory audit and count, internal controls are implemented and adhere to all manufacturing plants company guideline and GAAP. Conduct training for plant finance including factory management teams, process of standard based, cost models, financial analysis tools, inventory audits, and continuous improvement on cost reduction for American and Mexico plants. Provide training and support to plant controllers on short term forecasts based on various analyses. Review manufacturing systems, identify weakness, and suggest process improvements. Ensure internal controls are in place. Work closely with operations to identify area or activities for costs reductions.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and three years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment. Three years of experience must include three years of experience with each of the following: (1) Operational and Cost Accounting, specifically with inventory; (2) GAAP technical accounting concepts related to ASC 606; (3) Financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information as needed for decision making support; (4) SOX 404 Compliance: validity and accuracy of monthly results, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production and work order processing; (5) Cost efficiencies in new product layouts; and (6) Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
