Job Summary (Primary function)
The Sr Client Engineer is responsible for various Enterprise Endpoint client design, engineering, administration and support functions. Activities include Enterprise endpoint systems platform management/administration, endpoint solution design and configuration through systems management tools, client image management, desktop support, and project management of endpoint OS and application deployment and maintenance implementations. Server/Cloud-side administration functions required for systems management platform management and monitoring.
Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
Oversee and participate in the design, engineering and support of corporate desktop, laptop and lab client computer images.
Coordinate and execute on plan/build/run activity related to server instances (virtual and physical) and SaaS/PaaS/DaaS employed for endpoint management, including bare metal recovery and platform troubleshooting.
Adhere to SDLC protocols and IT Service Management procedural mechanisms including change control, documentation and service management call logging.
Implement and administer various monitoring and alerting systems.
Oversee and coordinate packaging of OS and application level software upgrades, OS/security/hotfix and feature software updates for managed endpoints. Uses managed services where and when appropriate.
Experience with Service Level, Service Design and test protocol development, solution lifecycle management, process control, technical documentation & compliance procedures applicable to enterprise endpoint system platform and device management.
Provide level 3 escalation support for all endpoint technology and supporting platform tools.
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Experience with various client hardware including Hewlett Packard, Lenovo, Apple, and Dell laptops, desktops, mobile/personal productivity devices, and associated peripherals.
Direct experience with current branch MS Endpoint Management platform in a distributed environment. Experience with MS InTune and MS co-management implementations for MS Windows 10 and MacOS clients a plus.
Experience with various current branch MS Windows client and server operating systems. Some current Macintosh/MacOS experience is also required.
Experience with client applications including MS Office (MSI and CTR), Adobe Acrobat and other CS products, Edge, endpoint protection solutions (e.g. Symantec AntiVirus, Crowdstrike), and other common client components including data protection tools compression tools and remote access programs. Experience with pharmaceutical applications such as ChemDraw, Accord, Diva, DSGene, Prism, SciFinder, and MOE is preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years enterprise IT client design, engineering and administration experience.
