Our Analytical Development group is looking for a Principal Investigator. This position must possess the analytical technique skills and working experience on developing appropriate quality strategies and analytical methodologies to aid in the development of drug substances and drug products. The position partners with colleagues in Pharmaceutical Development, Process Chemistry, Quality Assurance and external development partners to ensure appropriate analytical support is delivered to meet scientific and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)

Provide analysis of compounds and formulations submitted by pharmaceutical and process scientists using appropriate analytical techniques (e.g. LC-MS, HPLC, Vibrational Spectroscopy, etc.).

Develop, validate, and transfer new analytical methods to support Process and Pharmaceutical Development.

Facilitate the transfer of analytical methodologies to external laboratories as needed.

Interpret analytical data and effectively communicates results to Discovery and Pharmaceutical Development and Process Chemistry scientists. Solid understanding of statistical approaches to data analysis and regulatory requirements.

Serve as a technical expert to internal and external partners in the area of Analytical Science.

Champion implementation of new instrumentation or analytical techniques to meet the technical and efficiency challenges of the organization.

Maintain proper analytical documentation consistent with the nature of work being conducted.

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

Ph.D. in Analytical or Organic Chemistry or equivalent experience.

5 years of related analytical development experience in a drug development setting.

Experience in a variety of analytical techniques and their application within a Drug Development setting.

Demonstrate expertise in either mass spectrometry or vibrational spectroscopy including HRMS, QTof.
