Job Description

The Business Risk Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities:

+ Lead activities to design, build and manage a comprehensive framework for analytics and reporting through coordination of activities with credit bureau furnishing, disputes, vendor oversight and strategy teams

+ Leverage advanced quantitative techniques to extract insights, detect data anomalies and monitor trending variances

+ Develop and manage analytic tools to drive enhanced controls, audits and monitoring activities for credit bureau reporting, disputes, vendor oversight and business strategy

+ Utilize Statistical Analysis System (SAS) in a UNIX environment to extract credit bureau reported and dispute data to create helpful and actionable insights, detect data anomalies and monitor trending variances

+ Design and maintain MIS across the U.S. Consumer Bank (USCB)

+ Build, manage, and deliver executive level presentations with clear visualizations using a combination of charts, maps, and other graphical elements on key metrics to provide simple and comprehensible insights and patterns in the data for strategy and decision-making

+ Supports audits, examinations, and deliverable requirements from internal and external reviewers

+ Leverage internal and external data sources to create actionable intelligence of industry landscape to identify issues and key areas of focus (CFPB complaints, etc.)

+ Represent Citi in industry forums (Auriemma, CDIA, etc.)

+ Understand applicable credit policies, industry regulations and the requisite impact of those governance items to prospective new partners or product initiatives

+ Establish and leverage cross-functional partnerships and network with key internal and external constituencies

+ Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

+ Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

+ Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

+ 4+ years relevant work experience in Business Risk Analytics & Controls

+ Experience with process improvement, software development, SAS/SQL, and project management preferred

+ Familiarity with use of external available data (consumer and commercial credit information sources), industry and applicable regulations (i.e. CDIA CRRG, FCRA, GLBA, etc.)

+ Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

+ Effective organizational influencing skills required.

+ Third party vendor management preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead global team efforts

+ Excellent problem solving skills Ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details

+ Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.

Education:

+ Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
