Our Medical Affairs team advances patient care by engaging in scientific exchange with external medical experts and industry professionals ensuring the scientific value of our products is realized. We engage and train internal employees to ensure that they thoroughly comprehend the science behind the medicine and review further unmet medical needs to bolster collaboration and further differentiate our portfolio.

Under the guidance and direction of senior oncology medical writing staff, the Assistant Medical Writer works with scientists in our company’s Research Laboratories (Our Research Division) and external investigators to write or facilitate the writing of journal articles, conference abstracts, and posters/oral presentations that report our company’s clinical trial results and, at times, early-stage development and other scientific work, for timely peer-reviewed publication.

Primary activities include, but are not limited to:

+ Prepare scientific content for abstracts, presentations and manuscripts for assigned therapeutic area/franchise to execute the Strategic Publications Plan. This includes generating data displays (e.g., figures, tables), referencing, formatting, and submission of documents in collaboration with pub specialist.

+ Facilitate the review (departmental and internal) of documents and incorporate comments/revisions from authors into manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations.

+ Ensure that franchise publication/presentation tracking information is accurately and actively maintained in Datavision and other relevant repositories.

+ Participate in Publication Team meetings and keep Publication Manager apprised of status of assigned publication projects.

+ Organize and facilitate publication project kick-off meetings and other co-author meetings for assigned projects.

+ Develop an awareness of science/literature and key data within assigned therapeutic area(s).

+ Enforce our company’s publication guidelines and other good publication practices and oversee the OSTIC manuscript release process.

+ Attend training courses and appropriate scientific meetings to develop competency in and awareness of evolving best practices in professional publications and relevant external research activities.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively work in a team environment are essential.

+ Proficiency with computer systems (MS Office) necessary.

Skills and Experience:


+ BA or BS with 6 years of experience in a scientific writing or medical communications discipline OR

+ MA or MS with 3 years of experience in a scientific writing or medical communications discipline OR

+ PhD or PharmD with postdoctoral experience.


+ Experience in clinical research environment or with communicating medical information, particularly in the oncology or immuno-oncology space.
