Provide intermediates and final drug substance for further study, evaluation, and analytical method validation. Design and execute new synthetic routes and procedures for the preparation of drug intermediates and final drug substance. Provide internal scale-up and process optimization support to meet non-GMP drug substance needs. Detect and isolate impurities generated during reactions using analytical HPLC, preparative HPLC, LCMS, 1Hand 13C-NMR, IR, and UV. Develop strategy to control the formation of reaction impurities by studying the fate and tolerance of reaction impurities. Use flow chemistry to prepare the organic compounds which are problematic to be made by batch reaction. Synthesize nitrogen containing heterocycles, including pyrazoles, triazoles, triazines, tetrazines and others. Synthesize strained small to medium size cyclic compounds. Conduct process research and development study in support of drug intermediate and final drug substance manufacturing efforts at Contract Research Organizations (CROs) plants. Prepare technology transfer documents for the preparation of drug substance by CROs.
