Job Summary (Primary function)
The Associate Director Technical Services is responsible for supporting the planning, development, testing, and implementation / support activities associated with the technical Incyte SAP Ecosystem. The incumbent is also responsible for the successful coordination and management of third party partners supporting the technical environments. The incumbent identifies and promotes continuous improvement opportunities to enable enhanced SAP functionality / capability designed to enhance and/or optimize business processes. The role is responsible for providing on-going strategic design and operational technical architecture related services that successfully underpin the business use of all SAP Enterprise Applications. The incumbent proposes innovative and best practice technical architecture designs and solutions that accelerate delivery of cost-effective and compliant implementation of SAP enterprise applications.
Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
Manage and coordinate all security activities associated with the SAP environment as well as the integration of accounts with PeopleSoft.
Delivering all aspects within Service Level Agreement targets established for our third party partners related technical support services and activities. This includes all basis and technical monitoring activities that are defined as part of the service plan.
Significant collaboration with IS Business Partners to successfully plan and deliver the technical environment and security components of SAP projects.
Maintaining compliancy against associated internal and external regulations and controls for both project and support environments.
Contributing to and exerting influence in the definition of "SAP-in-a-box" to be leveraged as a cost-effective enterprise-wide transactional solution to meet the needs of Incyte's expansion into Rest-Of-World markets.
Deliver financial and SLA targets of approved third party support and service providers.
Manage and track applicable SAP licensing.
Demonstrated commitment to Incyte's validation and SOX controls during both project and operational support activities for BI and SAP activities, including appropriate testing of Disaster Recovery solutions.
Manage and deliver cost effective, scalable and highly available technical architecture solutions for SAP, in significant collaboration with IT Business partners and IT Infrastructure teams to support approved SAP Roadmap activities.
Lead the planning and execution of technical application upgrades in a compliant manner. Work collaboratively with key external and internal stakeholders to understand the challenges, needs and opportunities in order to define and implement an optimal course of action.
Identify and deliver SLA targets of approved third party support and service providers supporting the technical operational aspects of SAP.
Lead and Manage Incyte and third party resources responsible for Basis, Security, Integration, and monitoring activities
Lead and coordinate appropriate testing of SAP's disaster recovery solutions
Participate and contribute with cross-functional teams, and bring a broad awareness to identify impacts/effects of process or technical decisions.
Iteratively improve system delivery and maintenance execution with minimal oversight.
Interface with other IT and Business teams as needed to coordinate and support existing operations and new initiatives.
Execute support activities related to SAP Finance, including proactive issue identification through ticket resolution, planning and oversight of maintenance windows & activities, and responding to ad hoc requests from Business users or other IT resources.
Provide both oversight and logistical support for third-party technology and service providers, including coordinating troubleshooting efforts and upgrades with third-party providers, directly troubleshooting client application issues, and managing vendor relationships as needed.
