AECOM is currently seeking a qualified Environmental Process Engineer to complete projects for our clients, including planning, design, and startup of wastewater process and treatment systems. The successful candidate will assist with drinking water, wastewater, reuse, and/or industrial treatment process planning, modeling, and design. They will use their experience in process and piloting evaluations, hydraulics, water chemistry and quality, treatment processes and equipment, and applicable regulatory frameworks to help deliver meaningful solutions to local, regional, and national treatment project challenges. Typical work also includes the opportunity to evaluate, select and apply standards of advanced engineering and modeling techniques, engage in statistical analysis and data evaluations, perform technical writing and verbal presentations, and assist multifaceted design teams.
+ Provides technical and design services focused on water treatment plant operations and processes.
+ Provides technical support services for sustainable water supply, treatment, and distribution systems.
+ Conduct engineering evaluations using supply and finished water quality data, prepare various reports, assist with design drawing development, prepare technical specifications, and prepare permit submittals for regulatory compliance.
+ Preparation of commissioning, start-up, and operation plans for newly installed water treatment systems.
+ Addresses Request for Information (RFI) from contractors related to design issues.
+ Must be able to work as part of a project team in a multi-disciplinary and multi-office environment.
+ Responsible for various tasks on several concurrent projects and must be able to follow these tasks through to completion within the allocated period of time and budget assigned.
+ Diagnosing, analyzing and implementing water treatment process improvements.

+ Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or related fields is required.
+ 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education in water treatment, chemistry and process evaluations or existing experience in the water discipline.
+ A valid driver’s license
+ Must successfully pass all pre employment screening
+ Master’s in Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or related fields is required.
+ Engineering-in-Training is preferred, but we will consider experience and background.
+ Design knowledge of Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) systems.
+ Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
+ Experience during startup of wastewater processes and systems is preferred.
+ Experience with environmental rules and regulations in the water and wastewater field.
+ Familiarity with CAD software. BIM and Revit capability a plus.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel
