Responsibilities include but not limited to: Safety & Quality Enforce safety procedures and policies and ensure a safe work environment free of hazards Inform Supervisor of employees not following safety procedures and demonstrating safe behaviors Ensure compliance with OSHA and other government agencies Ensure proper compliance and execution of the HAZMAT program Help drive overall quality for product built, shipped to and received by customer Strives to ensure quality outcome of product the first time, responsible for correcting quality errors and fixing processes to avoid future quality errors from occurring. Conduct safety and quality audits Leadership Help direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the department. Assist Supervisor plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals. Makes recommendations to and communicates with supervisor on safety and quality observations Key person to onboard new hires into the department and ongoing training/coaching of employees. Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training. Partner with management to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances in supervisor's absence. Responsible to help train and develop co-workers in their jobs Technical Set up and adjust machines and equipment. Review operations and confer with technical staff to resolve production or processing problems Prepare and maintain production reports and end of shift work orders to be turned in to management Ensure inspection of materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions. Manage production with minimum waste and quality errors Observe work, and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
