The Senior Specialist, HR Business Partner, will provide HR support for the hourly staff and managers across the Elkton, VA site. The HRBP will coach the management team and support employee & labor relations including issue/ conflict resolution. The HRBP will also support the development of talent, diversity strategy, talent management, restructuring, change management, leader effectiveness, performance management, and compensation & rewards.
+ Provide HR support for client group, including coach, counsel and train managers on issues with staffing, benefits, EHS/Safety issues, and payroll.
+ Lead and/or work closely with ER/LR COE on any investigation process, and issue/ conflict resolution (including grievance administration, corrective action, Arbitrations, etc.).
+ Track and analyze investigation data, identify trends, and drive organizational improvements, as appropriate, for proactive issue prevention.
+ In conjunction with site HR team, ensure that LR/ ER considerations are proactively considered in the development/ implementation of company programs and policies.
+ Conduct LR Training, pull through global LR initiatives.
+ Conduct manager capability building training, including performance management.
+ Lead job postings, new employee and manager onboarding for client group.
+ Support payroll, time and attendance.
+ Support talent management, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and metrics monitoring.
+ Support client restructuring/organizational change management activities when necessary.
+ Maintain constructive working relationships with relevant personnel, including union representatives.
+ Provide leadership and project management to critical HR initiatives across the site as needed.
Required Education/ Experience/ Skills:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline
+ 5 years Human Resources/ Labor Relations, Compliance, Generalist or related experience is required
+ Previous Union Contract experience is preferred
+ Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills
+ Demonstrated ability to work/ collaborate with colleagues/ internal clients/ managers and maintain constructive working relationships in a fast-paced environment
+ Experience developing and conducting manager training
+ Experience conducting effective investigations
+ Knowledge of employment legal practice/policies
Preferred Education/ Experience/ Skill:
+ Masters degree in HR/ Labor Relations
+ Metrics and data analytics capability
+ HR tools and systems capability
