The primary responsibility for the IT Compliance Analyst position will be support of the internal compliance testing and compliance. The position will be responsible for the testing of internal controls, gathering documentation or evidence, and documenting the test results. The position will participate as needed with information sharing/gathering process for other audits/reviews, such as external SOX audits, internal audits and state insurance department reviews. The IT Compliance Analyst will be responsible for reviewing, developing, and/or maintaining IT Compliance standards and procedure documentation for BTS and/or Berkley business units. The position will utilize his/her knowledge of compliance requirements and control frameworks to perform audits/reviews. Upon completion of reviews, this position will make recommendations or be directly involved with addressing gaps or developing remediation plans/steps.

+ Serve as a subject matter expert on the IT controls and compliance assessments in order to assist with inquiries, questionnaires, and regulatory requests.

+ Assist in the development and communication of our overall ITGC framework, including related IT policies, standards, controls and control requirements/guidelines.

+ Performing reviews of related IT Compliance documentation, procedures and controls, including creating work papers and making recommendations for remediation.

+ Documenting assessment/testing results, including the gathering and organizing of documentation or evidence collected.

+ Reporting issues or deficiencies found during testing and tracking the associated remediation plans across companies and/or departments.

+ Ensuring that exceptions, risk assessments and/or findings across all compliance related activities are documented and tracked for remediation, with direct involvement by either facilitation of discussions, or by being directly involved in the process.

+ Coordinating any external audits to facilitate the process of gathering any requested information and/or documentation.

+ Working both independently and across teams, or across entities, to collect or distribute important information on processes, procedures, guidelines, etc.

+ Assist management and leadership in defining the IT general control (ITGC’s) objectives and monitoring compliance efforts.

+ Experience working on regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley, NY CCR Part 500 Cyber Security Regulation, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and SWIFT are required. Experience working with Unified Compliance Framework (UCF) is a plus.

+ Working knowledge and understanding of COBIT, ISO 27001 and/or NIST frameworks. Proven ability to apply toward internal IT controls for the purposes of IT compliance activities is a strong plus.

+ Experience assessing technical controls and information security controls.

+ Direct experience working with policies, standards, and controls and performing coverage and/or gap assessments. Experience in the creation of policies, standards and controls is a strong plus.

+ Experience performing risk assessments, and handling exceptions/exemption type processes.

+ 3+ years of regulatory IT compliance activities, including performing assessments with work papers, issue tracking, and gap analysis/remediation planning.

+ Proven ability to prioritize workloads, work effectively on concurrent tasks, and be able to meet project deadlines.

+ Proven ability to facilitate meetings or discussions with internal and external personnel to determine action items and completion dates.

+ Proven ability to manage large datasets, including the ability to run data comparisons, and extract and/or import data.

+ Strong technical and analytic aptitude.

+ Ability and willingness to learn quickly.

+ Extremely detail oriented.

+ Excellent organizational and planning skills.

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communication with both internal teams and external contacts.

Education Requirement

+ Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in related field or equivalent experience.

+ Insurance experience is favorable.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

+ Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.

+ May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

+ Travel expected – approximately 20-40% for the 6-12 months, generally 10-20% on an annual basis.

+ Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
