ChristianaCare is looking for a Practice Manager to lead our Middletown West Primary Care Practice!

The Manager of Practice Operations is responsible for workflow, performance, and the overall management and operations of the Primary Care practice which includes maintaining finance and office productivity, meeting quality measures and patient/staff satisfaction and performance goals. The Manager is responsible for financial/budget reporting, workflow processes and standardization, performance improvement and creating a collaborative work environment. Our team is six Physicians, two Registered Nurses, one Licensed Practical Nurse, and Five Office Assistants.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fosters an open communication culture, and team environment.

Administers and engages the care team in performance and quality improvement activities

Demonstrated ability to standardize processes and improve operational performance and team cohesion.

Assists practices with patient relations to promote patient satisfaction.

Evaluates staff performance, develops standards, and ensures basic competencies for all staff. Ensures that all staff is aware of the importance of protecting any confidential information about patients, physicians, or colleagues.

Administers staff mentoring, monitors staff retention, manages employee engagement, and demonstrates ChristianaCare values and behaviors.

Together with the physicians, plan, develop and implement any changes necessary to meet new demands on the practice both internally and externally.

Manages practice staff and determines staffing standards, staff skills and other needs. Interviews, selects and hires new employees. Manages employee time and payroll records.

Evaluates staff performance, develops standards, and ensures basic competencies for all staff. Ensures that all staff is aware of the importance of protecting any confidential information about patients, physicians, or colleagues.

Establishes expectations and model behaviors that demonstrate service excellence to staff and focuses on the patient as the primary customer. Conducts regular meetings with the physicians and staff to discuss practice operations, concerns and improvements.

Manages practice operational budget and administration. Develops control procedures to ensure accurate accounting.

Manages the financial operations of office for adherence; patient registration, insurance verification zero charge report and end of day process.

Monitors prior-authorization and referral management processes, and clerical and clinical pools for time management.

Develops policies, procedures and standards for efficient and effective office operations. Identifies potential problem areas, develops a system for objectively monitoring performance, and creatively seeks solutions to foster quality improvement.

Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices, reports to the appropriate personnel, in a timely fashion, any unsafe activities, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employee, patients, and visitors.

Performs other related duties as required.

 

DIRECTION/SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:

On average 12-15 direct reports

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Must have at least 3 years of healthcare experience with at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
