Job Summary: Performs responsible technical and skilled work in the installation and maintenance
of electric power distribution systems.
The Electric Line Technician, Crew Leader shall be committed to the mission, vision and values of

Essential Job Functions:
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential duties:
A. Serves as crew leader for all phases of primary, secondary, street lights, overhead, and
B. Reviews work orders and related drawings and blueprints and diagnoses on-site problems;
prepares work site in compliance with safety regulations.
C. Provides training for subordinate line workers; schedules, assigns, and assists with completion
of tasks as required.
D. Interacts with the general public, City personnel, and/or outside agencies to provide
information or assist with the resolution of issues, problems, or complaints relating to area of
E. Requisition and inspect materials and prepare periodic reports and submits to supervisor.
F. Operate aerial towers and line trucks.
G. Install and connect a variety of three phase transformers banks.
H. Install, repair, and replace cross arms, insulators, transformers, lightning arrestors, etc.
I. Monitor and ensure safety precautions for the crew and the public.
J. Accomplish line work on energized and deenergized circuits.
K. Install all types switch gear on distribution system.
L. Trim trees for line maintenance.
M. Replace rotten poles.
N. Replace old hardware.
O. Troubleshoot outages and repair.
P. Work scheduled on-call duties.
Q. Performs related work as required.
