A fundamental corner stone for this vision is to enable a consistent, reliable, and standardized monitoring, observability, and telemetry platform. The platform will enable events, logs, metrics, traces, and alerts to make machine and application data accessible, usable, and valuable to everyone.

To that end, we are seeking an experienced Enablement and Technology Solutions Engineer to work in the Monitoring, Observability, and Telemetry product organization that will support JP Morgan Chase’s four cloud strategy. The platform will support telemetry across the private cloud ecosystem, called Gaia Cloud, and the public clouds Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure.

The ideal candidate is a customer obsessed innovative engineer with significant experience in contributing to high performing teams with a continuous improvement objective. As a member on the team, you will be focused on the stability of products and building product adoption for our customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Troubleshoots priority incidents, conducts blameless post-mortems, and ensures permanent closure of the incidents

+ Partner with product engineering teams throughout the development life cycle to ensure software reliability

+ Apply analytics on the past data like incidents and usage patterns for predicting issues and take proactive actions

+ Identify and build solutions for self-healing and resiliency to eliminate manual toil

+ Member of a regional team providing support of product’s service availability

+ Drive a one product model for all supported applications.

+ Maintain both technical and customer documentation to ensure accuracy and validity

+ Participate in incident, problem, and change management for supported products

+ Accountable for system availability and stability of production environments

+ Quickly understand customer needs and demonstrate how they can best use our products

+ Keep up with industry trends regarding APM, Observability and Telemetry products

+ Drive innovation and automation of supported products

+ Build and foster relationships with external customers for adoption of products

+ Work with a continuous improvement mindset always looking for opportunities to improve stability and customer experience

+ Be part of the 24×7 support coverage and on call rotation as needed

Qualifications:

+ BS/BA degree or equivalent experience

+ 5+ years of experience with at least 3+ years in a hands-on software development or production management role

+ 3-5 years of experience leading site reliability engineer (SRE) and DevOps teams

+ 3-5 years of experience with monitoring, observability, and telemetry products (bonus if working knowledge of Tivoli, SCOM, Netcool, Splunk, ElasticSearch, Grafana, Prometheus, Cortex)

+ 3-5 years administering application servers, web servers, and databases (Tomcat, WebSphere, Nginx, Microsoft IIS, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)

+ 3+ years of experience in developing enterprise software and proficiency in multiple technologies preferably Java, Python, Shell scripting

+ Experience with configuration management tools like ansible, puppet, chef, or salt

+ Strong understanding of product management and product/customer centric organizations

+ Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals

+ Understanding of cloud, virtualization, and APIs Technologies.

+ Ability to write technical documentation for end user and engineering consumption

+ Familiar with continuous integration and continuous development (CI/CD) development, tools such as Jenkins, Jira, Git/BitBucket, etc

+ Excellent infrastructure experience on Windows and Linux

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
