Our Analytical Development Group is looking for a Principal Investigator, Analytical Development. The Principal Investigator must possess the ability to elucidate structures of active pharmaceutical ingredients and related substances using high resolution mass spectrometry. The successful Principal Investigator will also be proficient in a range of analytical techniques, demonstrate effective technical writing and act as a mentor in the laboratory environment. Ensure appropriate analytical deliverables are met in accordance with scientific and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)

Is proficient in data interpretation using high resolution mass spectrometry.

Works collaboratively and cross-functionally with process chemists and pharmaceutical development scientists using appropriate analytical techniques to progress project objectives.

Demonstrates a high level of technical expertise in one or more technical, possesses excellent problem-solving skills and contributes to project strategies and goals.

Serves as a technical expert to internal and external partners in the area of Analytical Science.

Champions implementation of new instrumentation or analytical techniques to meet the technical and efficiency challenges of the organization.

Maintains detailed documentation consistent with the nature of work being conducted.

Acts as a mentor in the laboratory environment.

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

Ph.D. in Analytical or Organic Chemistry or equivalent experience

Must be proficient in mass spectral interpretation

Must have 5 years minimum of related analytical development experience in a drug development setting.
