Senior Refinery Process Engineer

Under broad direction, the Senior Refinery Process Engineer supervises and leads a group of engineers on a new international refinery project. Provides technical direction over a group and is responsible for coaching and developing lower level professionals. Plans, budgets, organizes, and controls an important segment of a very extensive and highly diversified engineering program.

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, work may be performed in a remote capacity. Once the COVID-19 Pandemic guidelines for social distancing have been reduced, work may be required to work in the office in Newark, DE and/or in a flexible working arrangement.

Responsibilities

+ Functions as a process lead for petroleum refinery units and utilities. Organizes the process engineering team structure and organization and leverages resources throughout the team.

+ Scope definition from receipt of basic data to Issue For Design process deliverables. Interface with the client to define all operating requirements.

+ Overall responsibility for Process Engineering deliverables, including simulations, heat and material balances, PFDs, equipment datasheets, and P&IDs. Assures Quality Control practices are in place and being followed.

+ Manage scope change technically and commercially.

Requirements/Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering required.

+ Minimal 15 – 20 years’ experience in design of petroleum refining processes (including process simulation) required.

+ Demonstrated leadership of process design on capital projects, including responsibility for budget, schedule, and change management is required.

+ Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred, not required
