Manage and distribute disposable supplies to support the Operating Rooms and ancillary locations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fills Case bins / carts using O.R. Preference Lists
Responds to trauma calls. Class IIs, and Add-on cases and builds case bin /carts
Uses appropriate software applications to generate O.R. Preference Lists to build case bins / carts
Delivers case bins / carts and surgical supplies to the O. R. and SPD as needed
Runs Materials Management Information software including supply tracking to reference products and scan the receipts of product
Restocks and rotates, stock and non-stock supplies, while checking for damaged and expired products
Notifies the inventory clerk or inventory coordinator of any supply shortages or usage increases
Inventories and replenishes assigned stock and non-stock par locations in Soft goods, O.R., and ancillary locations
Completes daily checklist and 5s checklist as needed
Answers incoming phone calls in a courteous manner and provides assistance to O.R. staff
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports any unsafe activity, hazards, conditions or violations to supervisor or administrator in a timely manner
Performs other related duties as assigned or required
Visually checks products to verify information and condition of product. Information includes: catalog numbers, expiration dates, sterility and description.
SCOPE, PURPOSE, AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS:
Frequent contact with O.R. schedulers, coordinators, nurses, technicians, and other ancillary staff. Is the liaison between Materials and the O.R.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School graduate with minimum three years of relevant work experience in materiel and/or inventory management and distribution.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to serve customers and maintain a high level of satisfaction
Knowledge of computer basics
Skill in oral and written communications
Versed in the use of Microsoft Office products including Excel
Ability to do basic numerical calculations
Ability to work with little supervision
Ability to communicate effectively in situations with a wide range of stress level.
Ability to operate all equipment and software used in Surgical Materials.
Standing for long periods of time, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending and walking as indicated on the physical demands checklist. Frequent lifting up to 35 lbs. Must be able to push a cart with a maximum of 250 lbs. of stock to the O.R. area. Must be able to visually inspect small packages and verify small text including but not limited to expiration information which may be translucent.
Fast paced, active, and customer orientated environment. Possible exposure to radiation, anesthesia agents, and other hazardous gases and chemicals.
