POSITION DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATION
POSITION TITLE: MA Shop Floor Supervisor DATE: February 2021
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt DEPT: MA
POSITION SUMMARY: The Military Aircraft Shop Supervisor reports to the Director of Maintenance and is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the MA shop operation; operates in compliance with company safety practices; and performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be knowledgeable of the requirements for FAA Inspection Procedures & Federal Aviation Regulations and DCMAI 8210.1c.
Assigns work to ensure on-time under budget deliveries to the customer; sets daily priorities for the shop.
Monitors all tasks to ensure quality work.
Schedules use of hangars to ensure maximum density of aircraft to meet the Program Managers delivery schedule.
Enforces all government approved procedures as described in the latest revision of the Ground Operating Procedures guide and DCMAI 8210.1c.
Assist with continuous improvement of ground operating procedures.
Notifies PM and DOM of any condition that presents an issue with parts, material, airworthiness, workmanship or schedule.
Ensures compliance with U.S. Army record keeping requirements IAW Department of the Army Pamphlet 738-751.
Ensures that current pertinent U.S. Army technical and regulatory data, Federal Aviation Regulations, Type Certificates Data Sheets, Specifications, Airworthiness Directives, Maintenance Manuals and other data are available and are used.
Ensures that the proper tools and test equipment are used; ensures that the proper and current inspection guides are being used for inspection.
Ensures that all equipment/components removed for repair and/or to gain access are properly documented.
Coordinate with mechanics and designated inspectors to ensure for continuity of inspection.
Coordinates all trainings and ensures that work area is maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
Requests additional tools and/or equipment when needed.
Assist PM with periodic edits of work orders to determine that labor hours and parts are being charged appropriately and submits corrections as required.
Assists in final review of work orders.
Performs performance reviews.
Performs Root cause analysis and assist with developing corrective action plans.
Ensures tools and precision test equipment has a current calibration
Ensures that all inspections and follow on maintenance are properly performed on completed work before presenting to the quality department for sign-off.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Manages the daily workflow in multiple hangars with multiple aircraft. Coordinates with the Program Managers on daily priorities while guiding the team leads.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Must have a High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
A&P License preferred.
Must have fifteen years of Military Aircraft experience, preferably CH47 and/or UH60 model.
Must have 5 – 10 years of managerial experience.
Must be knowledgeable with the requirements of DCMAI 8210.1
Must be knowledgeable of the requirements of Federal Aviation Regulations.
Must have government, corporate and general aviation experience.
Must have strong managerial abilities.
Must be able to focus on key tasks, prioritize duties, and manage multiple priorities.
Must have strong problem solving and negotiation skills required.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, problem solving and analytical skills are required.
Exceptional communication skills are required.
Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform office and clerical duties including use of office tools.
Working Environment: The working environment is not climate controlled and is weather permitting. Daily contact with employees in other departments is required.
