The Institutional Markets team is one of the top writers of pension risk transfer transactions in the US. Institutionally priced group annuity solutions are designed for employers who have decided to exit their pension plan by transferring accrued benefit liabilities and administrative responsibilities to an insurer. Our Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) team understands that many employers and intermediaries are unfamiliar with single premium group annuity products and pension plan buy-outs, buy-ins and settlements and provide the guidance and support clients’ needs.

About the role

The purpose of this position is to provide enterprise wide systems and business services for AIG Pensions, including needs analysis, research, development, testing and implementation and support of systems and procedural solutions to support business opportunities, initiatives and strategic goals in the most effective and efficient manner. This position is a unique blend of technical expertise, in depth understanding of customer service needs and business knowledge with strong interpersonal, training and creative thinking skills.

Responsibilities:

+ Provide analytical, technical and testing support for projects as assigned

+ Gather and document project requirements, test plans and test cases

+ Build business cases, present cases to management for approval

+ Provide project leadership for technology and operational improvement initiatives

+ Defining and executing key routines at the project level centered around project increment planning, execution, and monitoring

+ Identify meaningful metrics to track, how to interpret them, and how to offer course corrections at the project level when necessary

+ Creation of procedures and training materials for application end users

+ Provide training and support to application end users

+ Manage project testing efforts and deliverables

+ Creation and maintenance of reports, workflow identification and Data analysis

+ Additional work as assigned by Management

What you need to know:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in a business or technical discipline or equivalent business experience preferred

+ 5 years of related experience, preferably in a financial services or insurance environment

+ General knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies

+ General knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies

+ Working knowledge of requirements gathering and test planning and execution techniques

+ Ability to work with diverse groups and teams in multiple locations

+ Strong organizational skills

+ Analytical and interpretive skills

+ Excellent oral and written communications

+ Strong database skills (Oracle and/or SQL Server)

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio)

+ Results Oriented

+ Knowledge of annuity/pension operations

+ Knowledge of Cognos a plus

+ Knowledge of HP Quick Test Professional (QTP) a plus

+ Industry and professional designations are a plus
