Job Description

The Credit Portfolio Officer will be responsible for managing credit risk underwriting and existing customer management policies, while optimally balancing customer engagement and experience. The objective of this role is to optimize Citi Branded cards’ return on tangible common equity and drive sustainable growth for business within Citi’s Risk Appetite Framework. The incumbent will own and develop quantitative risk frameworks and associated risk analytics to optimize underwriting and existing customer management strategies for Branded cards portfolio. The individual will leverage Citi data and external credit bureau data to formulate objectives, develop analytical solutions, and perform statistical analyses using advanced analytical techniques to identify relationships and trends in data, as well as any factors that could affect key customer engagement, risk and business performance metrics.

Responsibilities:

+ Develop and test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods to identify underserved segments within risk appetite boundaries and prepare the test data for processing by organizing information, checking for any inaccuracies, and adjusting / weighting the raw test results to design credit policies while balancing risk and return.

+ Execute complex credit risk analysis utilizing sophisticated analytical tools including SAS, SAS Enterprise Miner, SQL, decision tree software such as Knowledge Seeker, and advanced Excel on UNIX and Teradata platforms.

+ Evaluate, implement, and monitor sophisticated leading-edge analytic tools such as machine learning models in the underwriting and existing customer management process.

+ Identify policy improvement opportunities and take ownership of policy analytics from conception to execution.

+ Evaluate and make business case for usage of non-traditional data sources in credit decisioning process

+ Analyze portfolio performance at a granular segment level on an ongoing basis and perform risk and reward trade off analysis. Identify trends and conduct data driven root-cause-analysis using SAS and SQL to isolate key performance drivers.

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

+ Communicate policy changes and test recommendations, program approvals, performance trends with business partners, senior management, and external regulators.

+ Conceptualize and develop effective MIS/Reporting and data capabilities using Business Intelligence tools like Cognos, Tableau to facilitate credit risk management decisions and policies. Create presentations to inform senior internal (Citi) and external partners regarding Risk Management growth and control initiatives, forecasts, and outcomes.

+ Collaborate with Marketing, product, Finance, and Legal to drive new projects including new product launch, enhanced tech capabilities, improving business profitability

+ Lead multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously through effective project management. Create, update, and track project plans for multiple deliverable.

+ Communicate clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audience.

Qualifications:

+ 5+ years experience in risk management, financial services, economics or other analytical capacity in a relevant field

+ Experience with analytical or data manipulation tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, R, SPSS) and proficiency with MS Office suite

+ Knowledge of credit risk analytics

+ Ability to apply credit and risk principles toward business goals

+ Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a sense of urgency

+ Proven ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects

+ Proven interpersonal, organizational, and analytic skills

Education:

+ Bachelor’s Degree required in statistics, mathematics, engineering, physics, or economics

+ Master’s degree in a quantitative field preferred
