TA Instruments is searching for a Senior Engineering Manager, to lead a global team of engineers. Reporting to the Sr. Director of R&D, this role will be responsible for leading key strategic projects in support of R&D Roadmap - development of new instruments, leading product strategy, road map creation and solutions for the product family. The leader will work very closely with all R&D teams across all sites as needed to initiate, manage, and complete the projects per the strategy set forth by the Business Committee or R&D leader.

Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to
Lead, manage and grow geographically distributed team ofelectrical, mechanical and softwareengineers capable of delivering business critical results.
Seek out and provide guidance on new practices and technologies that may result in competitive advantage or improveteam efficiency and assure product success.
Utilize project management best practice to ensure adequate planning, facilitation, stakeholder management, control, and risk management activities.
Apply foresight and insight to proactively address project issues and risks.
Project managetheProduct Development cyclefrom concept to benefits realization. Undertake System level project management where needed.
Identify opportunities of innovation and lead a team of engineers to implement new solutions.
Communicate expectations, manage performance, coach, and develop organizational talent to enhance the employee satisfaction and overall results forWaters.
Work with scientists and lead project engineers to develop, evaluate and qualify mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies, components, materials, processes and/or processing equipment for incorporation into new product designs.
Demonstrate feasibility of designs to fulfill prescribed requirements with test data and supplemental analysis tovalidatedesign approaches.
Create system verification documents to provide test evidence thatsystem design requirements have been met.
Help generate asystem design/architecture to ensure various sub-systems worktogether.
Contribute to design reviews, phase reviews, System cost model, and other project related activity as needed.
Provide technical analysis support and guidance to team members and other groups to implement designs with proven feasibility into commercial products while ensuring conformance to company and customer requirements.
Collaborate with SMEs and Engineersin generating an understanding of system functionalities to meet user requirements.
Provide support for new product proposals, manufacturing,service,and other issues from around the world as needed.
Manage / mentor staff in technical design and analysis as well as project management to meet the needs of the programs.
The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics,Chemistry,or a related subject
Minimum 10 years industry experience in mechanical / electromechanical engineering designpertaining to scientific instruments or medical deviceproducts.
Demonstrated expertise in managing projects through a Product Development Process.
Experience in Product lifecycle management and in-depth knowledge and discipline in the application of project management best practices.
Experience inelectrical, mechanical, software orinterdisciplinary engineering and/or systemsknowledgeis highly desired.
Experience with a variety of analysis and evaluation tools such as data acquisition systems for temperature, pressure transducers, and optical measurement devices
