The biology work that is conducted at Stine Research Center requires a consistent supply of high-quality plants. Being able to do this starts with the Potting and Seeding operation. Which produces filled pots custom built to the customers specifications. This is done using two custom potting and seeding lines each staffed with 2 to 3 associates and a Line Supervisor.

+ Team supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the work on the potting and seeding lines and soil preparation areas.

+ This includes:

+ + Lead team of individuals producing pots filled with soil and seeds or preparing soil.

+ Have excellent team building skills

+ Train, assist and supervise people working on automated potting and seeding line

+ Manage day to day operation of potting and seeding line or soil area

+ Ensure all potting and seeding orders are filled accurately and with the highest quality possible

+ Troubleshoot and resolve issues and interface with facilities mechanics to resolve mechanical problems

+ Inventory management and sourcing of material

+ Create and maintain SOP’s

+ Create and distribute weekly schedule

+ Interface with production growers and testing biologist to ensure highest quality production plants and efficiently resolve any issues

+ Uphold core values (safety, environmental stewardship, respect for people, ethical behavior)

+ Team Supervisor ensures that the Potting and Seeding teams operates safety, efficiently and produce a consistently high-quality product. To do this they are the experts of every aspect of the potting and seeding work including software programs, manual and automated equipment.

+ They are also the key contact for issues with and on the lines.

+ Team Supervisor is also responsible to provide conceptual and design support for the building 400 design as well as the new potting and seeding lines.

+ As construction moves forward, they will lead the testing, assessment and acceptance of the new potting and seeding lines from external vendors. Upon completion they will lead the transition from the old potting and seeding lines to new equipments.

+ B.S. in Biological Science and at least 3 years of work experience in similar role in academia or industry. Masters or engineering background would be preferred.

+ Strict observance and adherence to required and approved safety procedures.

+ Proven track record of excellent leadership skills.

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.

+ Strong track record of accomplishment.

+ Good computer skills with an understanding of MS Windows Operating System and typical MS Office suite applications as well as applications such as Outlook and other databases.

+ Strong interpersonal skills. Willing to work in a group of diverse people while supporting team members to meet team objectives. As appropriate, possess the ability to work independently.

+ Have clean driving record and be able to drive large trucks and forklifts.

+ Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
