What You Will Do

Under general direction of the Quality Manager and within division policies and procedures, designs, develops and implements continuous improvement and process control procedures to achieve quality specification for product and manufacturing processes. Conduct root cause investigation and implement corrective actions for product nonconformance.

 

Typical Duties

Investigate, determine root cause and corrective actions, and communicate results to the customer. Implement and validate the appropriate corrective actions.

Direct employees in batteries production and provide support in dealing with material quality and process reliability.

Compile and develop training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.

Develop, interpret, and communicate relevant process data, charts, or reports in a timely manner.

May develop criteria for acceptable quality levels of purchased supplies and materials including coordination with key vendors to maintain certification.

Audit and analyzes process procedures as practiced in-house to assure performance to specifications. May perform internal audits as a lead auditor.

Regularly applies critical thinking, problem solving and lean manufacturing principles.

Champion special quality & improvement projects as assigned by Quality Manager.

Interface and engage with internal Clarios customers & suppliers, including tracking and reporting of quality metrics.

Collaborate with manufacturing, product and process engineering and other team members assigned to a project.

Reviews product and process designs for compliance and safety, adherence to company standards, customer concerns and to ensure timely completion. Conducts FMEA, PFMEA, and Capability Studies.

Ability to multitask, manage projects, and build cohesive teams.

Strong working knowledge of Excel, Access Process Mapping Software, 3D printing, and Minitab.

Utilize Six Sigma and Lean principles.

Perform any other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in engineering, or related field and previous manufacturing experience required.

2+ years minimum experience

Previous Quality experience in ISO9001/IATF16949 environment.

Project management experience preferred.

Provides quality assurance support and updates production method work instructions and procedures.

Analyzes data to provide continuous improvements in products and processes.

Conducts audits and creates finding reports to determine corrective and preventative action.

Conducts root cause investigation and solution implementation for customer concerns following the 8D process.
