Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an Entry-Level Highway Engineer in the Newark, DE area to join AECOM’s Transportation team.

This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2024.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Builds analytic and design skills.

+ Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

+ Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

+ Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

+ Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

+ Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Related experience in a relevant internship or professional work experience in support of transportation design.

+ Demonstrate effective time management, task prioritization, and strong interpersonal skills.

+ Ability to work productively in a team environment.

+ Professionalism in verbal and written communications.

+ Ability to adapt to shifting priorities/work schedules.

+ Receptive to comments and direction provided by others.

+ CAD experience highly desirable.

+ FE/EIT (any state)

+ Valid Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.

Additional Information

+ We are interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States. Permanent residency sponsorship is available for current H1-B visa holders in the United States.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $63,283.93 – $87,015.40.
