JOB TITLE: Sr. Electrical Engineer, R&D, MIBS [SEE324]

WORKSITE: 600 Technology Drive, Newark, DE 19702 (Position allows for up to 100% telecommuting within the U.S)

WAGE RANGE: $111,342 - $142,700 annually

JOB DESCRIPTION
Develop an expert-level understanding of Hologic products and their use in clinical practice to design, develop and test next generation systems. Build relationships with other team members and functions such as program management, field service, manufacturing, mechanical, compliance, reliability, or design engineers. Represent Electrical Engineering and Hologic culture through example. Perform, and provide, technical guidance in the design process, including providing innovative, detailed design solutions, and design transfer from R&D to sustaining and leading design reviews. Lead and perform design responsibilities such as design, analysis or troubleshooting of printed circuit assemblies, cable and harnessing design, power distribution, and developing CAD schematics for electrical assembly or PCB design. Accountable for the identification, diagnosis, prioritization, and correction of complex technical issues. Supply technical support for manufacturing and services issues using a systematic approach and providing effective solutions. Responsible for the specification, selection, and testing of hardware, electronic and electromechanical components. Perform or guides other engineers in activities to develop, build and maintain electrical test fixtures, prototypes, test control apparatus and equipment. Determine methods, procedures and conditions for testing the engineered products and associated apparatus. Work with contract manufacturers and vendors/suppliers to ensure device design and parts meet functionality and medical device quality and regulatory standards. Perform or guide other engineers in developing, verifying, and validating processes for manufacturing. Ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements. Responsible for the creation of design documents and supporting documentation such as CAD package updates, design requirements, specifications, verification procedures or reports, engineering change notices. Actively support and adhere to the Quality Policy and Quality System procedures. Ensure design, fabrication, maintenance, and repair methods/processes are developed as well as executed in a manner which supports all quality standards. Create schedules, track tasks and work with transparency reporting on progress and highlighting success factors such as progress, schedule, budget, project risks and resource or needs gaps. Identify and participate in making improvements that impact product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Contribute to CAPA, VIP, cost reduction, EOL and other projects on an as-needed basis. Establish collaborative relationships with all stakeholders within the division and create links with experts within the Hologic network and outside. As an individual contributor, manage several projects and priorities concurrently, under more senior Engineer supervision, as defined by program or functional management. Mentor less senior engineers. Support compliance testing to ensure Hologic products meet the require standards and regulations globally.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Informatics, or related discipline, and two (2) years’ experience in the job offered or in a closely related engineering or development position.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Experience must include 2 years in the following: 1) Electrical Design - hardware, schematic and circuit design (CAD); 2) Design Verification (planning and testing) including life cycle testing (reliability); 3) Root cause analysis - finding and fixing problems in design; 4) Compliance testing including EMC and safety testing; and 5) Integration of electrical designs and hardware into overall systems.
