Overview

 

Waters Global Research is establishing a new state-of-the-art bioreactor lab, located on the Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus at the University of Delaware as part of our Immerse network. A team anchored in Delaware will uncover new trends and opportunities in next generation bioprocess solutions and will have access to the latest technology in laboratory-scale bioreactors and analytical instruments. You will work as part of a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team of biologists, data scientists, sensory experts, and bioprocess engineers while collaborating with the broader Waters Global Research team. This opportunity will allow you to build on your technical expertise, advance science, and have a direct impact on new product innovations to drive better solutions for manufacturing next-generation therapeutics
The Research Assistant will support the creation of new innovative solutions to deliver high quality biopharmaceuticals through the application of process analytical technology. Waters is one of the world's leading technology providers of analytical tools in the life sciences and biopharma industries with a focus solving problems that matter, achieving greater sustainability, and improving inclusion and equity. We are seeking a highly energetic and motivated individual to contribute towards the development of cutting-edge research projects to advance bioprocess technologies

 


Responsibilities

 

Daily operations related to bioreactor building, sterilization, batch, and inoculation
Assisting in the design and execution of state-of-the-art experiments
Building assemblies to support bioreactor runs
Assisting with equipment installations and configuration
Routine maintenance of equipment including calibrations and replenishing supplies
Ensuring lab cleanliness and organization meets safety standards
Tracking chemical inventory, removing waste, and assisting with basic lab functions
Keeping a detailed, accurate, and up-to-date lab notebook

 


Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline
High attention to detail and a passion for learning
Curiosity, willingness to take initiative, and strong organizational skills
Aptitude for working with and modifying prototype hardware solutions is desirable
Exposure to bioprocessing workflows is a plus
