Job Description As a Manufacturing Engineer in the Manufacturing Engineering Group (GC Manufacturing), your primary responsibilities will include the technical support of production and the improvement of Agilent instrument systems to meet quality and business objectives. In addition, you will work with other Agilent departments and external partners to improve existing products or bring new products to market. You will develop a thorough understanding of the theory, construction, operation and testing of GC instruments and its related controlling software and data analysis system for your PL Manufacturing Engineering Group. Principle Duties/Responsibilities: Provide production support for technical issues Define, design, and setup production processes for new and current products Generate and/or review change control records (CC), risk assessments (RA), corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and effectiveness verification records (EV) to maintain compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Utilizes digital solutions to optimize and maintain state of the art manufacturing processes May be responsible for scripting software code used in manufacturing tests or to program an instrument used for production of a product Design, develop and test software solutions for manufacturing processes and equipment to enable high-throughput, high-quality production of company products Manufacturing data management and analytics engineer: Defines, develops, improves, supports and implements in house and commercial software solutions to support the manufacturing of products in a cost-effective and compliant manner Performs validations and associated activities for all software and technical based solutions Developing and maintaining documentation, SOPs, specifications, and test plans for software projects Analyzes automated tool and QC data to determine root cause of production or quality issues Supports and implements the transition of new product introduction and manufacturing processes from prototype to full production. Work with R&D engineers to positively influence the design of new products Work to continually improve the quality and cost structure for existing production processes Mentor and train engineers, technicians, and production personnel as needed Performing other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelors or Master's Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical, Computer Science, or equivalent 4+ years' experience working in a manufacturing environment Understand system-level instrument troubleshooting Knowledge of Statistics, Lean Manufacturing principles, and Six Sigma Strong problem solving and continuous improvement skills Ability to assess complex technical situations and to develop innovative solutions Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong teamwork skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams Good planning, organizational, and project management skills #LI-NW1 Agilent Technologies, Inc., is committed to diversity in the workplace and strives to support candidates with disabilities.
