Develop commercially viable cell lines that are used in the production of therapeutic recombinant proteins such as fusion protein, monoclonal and bispecific antibodies. Responsible for performing transfection, routine cell culture work, including cell passage and secure freeze. Operate amber15 for Fed-batch study. Evaluate CHO cells host and vector technologies of in-house licensed and new Clinical Research Organization (CRO) technologies to establish platform for monoclonal antibodies (mAb) production. Design and execute high throughput assays to screen mAb or BsAb minipools and clones, ensure production and product quality. Design and conduct genetic stability of cell lines. Qualify single cell plating and imaging workflow to ensure that monoclonality assessments meet regulatory expectations. Perform clone genetic stability study. Oversee the creation and maintenance of research cell banks as well as Master and Working Cell Banks manufactured and tested at Contract Labs. Present data summaries and study conclusions at internal scientific meetings. Train junior staff scientist. Ensure all work is appropriately documented in electronic lab notebook and reports are written in timely manner.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree or foreign equivalent followed by 2 years related experience. Will accept Master’s degree plus 5 years related experience in lieu of PhD+2.
