Position: Operator Trainee

Travel:primary location Newark, DE; open to regional travel

We are currently looking for a Operator Trainee to join our team at our Newark, DE project. Reporting to direct field supervision, the Trainee is responsible for learning and following all safety procedures as instructed, learning to proficiently and safely operate all required equipment during apprenticeship period with guidance from field supervision, to include rollers, loaders, GPS equipped dozers and large excavators. The ideal candidate is able to complete tasks as assigned, carry out instructions effectively, ask appropriate questions when unsure. The candidate is expected upon completion of apprenticeship period to successfully operate a roller, excavator or a dozer with rough grade and finish grade operations. Tasks may include assist with digging, laying pipe, trenches, grading and other tasks. He or She should be able to work independently as well as be able to communicate effectively. This position works along with the entire Project Team to support the completion of assigned construction projects and ensures all plans move forward to meet projected deadlines in safe manner.This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.

This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
