Job Description

AECOM’s Civil Engineering Department is seeking a Highway Design Engineer to join their team in Newark, DE. This role will support various bridge and highway projects throughout the region.

Duties:

+ Design and prepare drawings for Highway and Bridge projects including but not limited to roadway geometrics, Pedestrian Facilities, and Cost Estimate using DelDOT, FHWA, and AASHTO standards.

+ Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered during the design process per the agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

+ Coordinate with other disciplines and technical staff across the company.

+ Provide guidance to entry-level staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

+ BS Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

+ Experience working with DelDOT or similar state DOT

+ Experience utilizing Microstation, OpenRoads and/or InRoads

Preferred Requirements:

+ EIT Certification

+ Experience utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn and/or ConceptStation

+ Experience using MUTCD and/or Roadside Design Guide

+ Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (DE locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $70,000-110,000.
