Job Description

The Automation Technician works directly with the Engineering & Production Department to support our manufacturing facility. They should have the ability to program, troubleshoot errors, and repair malfunctions with welding robots, CNC water jet, PLC controlled equipment, CNC routers, CNC mills and machining centers, and other CNC machines. The Automation Technician must possess the ability to ensure the automated systems and
equipment are serviced, programmed, adjusted, calibrated, and maintained. Must have the ability to design, fabricate, install, test, modify, and troubleshoot electronic and control systems.


  • Work with the Engineering Department to program CNC Water Jet to CAD specifications and perform preventative maintenance
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshoot errors on CNC Mills and Machining Centers
  • Understand our company welding robot programming techniques and be current with the industry standards
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain Welding Robots as well as implement new technologies and features
  • Become familiar with our Programmable Logic Controllers controlled lines, then have the ability to troubleshoot, program, and perform preventative maintenance
  • Install, troubleshoot, update, and program electronic safety equipment
  • Work with the Engineering Department to program CNC Routers to product specifications and perform preventative maintenance
  • Read and interpret CAD drawings and specifications
  • Apply strong mechanical/electronic aptitude when responding to maintenance requests
  • Perform other duties as assigned
