The Center for Urogynecology and Pelvic Surgery of ChristianaCare is looking to recruit a skilled Physician Assistant to join our practice to both see patients in our office and assist in surgery, functioning as a licensed, independent provider. The candidate will spend 50% of the time in the office and 50% in the OR. This will provide a great opportunity for the candidate to master highly specialized skills in evaluating, diagnosing, and managing a variety of conditions in both Gynecology and Urology. Conditions we treat include urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, overactive bladder, fecal incontinence, and disorders involving the pelvic floor for women.

The candidate will work with a large team of experienced clinicians within the practice, which includes 4 physicians, all with over 12 years of experience, and 3 nurse practitioners with many years of experience. Our team is highly supportive and collegial. Our environment is inclusive and caring. Our aims are to provide high-quality patient care, using best practices and patient satisfaction as driving factors; all the while providing good work-life balance. Candidate must be willing to travel to satellite offices, currently not exceeding 35 minutes travel from main office. Specialty and surgery specific training will be provided by an experienced group of teachers within the practice and within the department.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform histories, physicals (including pelvic exams), bladder catheterization and benign GYN procedures.
Case management and coordination of care.
Provide education and counseling to patients and families about genito-urinary conditions.
Order and execute treatment plans; and perform office-based procedures, such as urodynamics, tibial nerve stimulation, anal manometry, and trigger point injections.
Participate in the interdisciplinary health care team as a resource and consultant.
Surgically will assist in the operating room primarily with robotic surgery as a first assistant.
Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed or eligible for PA license in the state of Delaware
Experienca as a PA in Urogynecology, Women's Health, or Urology preferred
Certification in specialty area
Prescriptive Authority or eligibility for the state of Delaware
DEA registration required
