We are seeking an experienced product manager to help support a growing portfolio of spectroscopy supplies within the Supplies Division.
Designs and implements marketing strategies for specific Agilent products or product lines to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena.
Understand customers' businesses, needs and problems, collaborate with customers and interface with R&D, manufacturing, and sales to develop new products and to ensure smooth new product(s) or product line(s) introduction.
Complete technical or performance evaluations of key supplies or supporting hands-on development of applications
Manages product offerings through the entire product life cycle.
Manage the pricing/profitability of the portfolio to deliver targeted profitability goals
Present quarterly analysis of portfolio performance including profitability, sales, pricing, and market trends to ensure committed goals and objectives are met
Conducts competitive analysis to determine product positioning, market segmentation, channel mix, pricing, volume, product service/support strategy and identifies customer needs.
Develops product definitions and solution plans designed to address customer needs and/or expand market share.
Evaluates business opportunities to define and optimize the product portfolio through analysis and understanding of targeted markets, market trends, customer business issues and the competitive environment.
Provide technical product expertise to address customer and field sales/support queries related to our spectroscopy supplies
Understand customer workflows in the analytical market and develop consumable solutions to address key needs or gaps in these workflows
In conjunction with the Marcom team, develop appropriate sales tools and product information material and update in a timely manner
Create effective training material for customers and/or field sales/support relating to the spectroscopy supplies portfolio and deliver when and where appropriate
Create and deliver seminars for customers and/or Agilent distributors to promote the spectroscopy supplies portfolio
Visit customers with Agilent or distributor salespeople to promote the spectroscopy supplies portfolio and address any technical queries they may have
Act as the SME for your product portfolio when engaging with the Digital Marketing Strategist to generate fresh, relevant and engaging content for the Agilent website and drive improvements in SEO/SEM
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Engineering or a similar discipline
8+ years of experience in product marketing
5+ years hands-on experience in the analytical laboratory using ICP-OES (preferred), ICP-MS and other techniques such as Atomic Absorption, or UV-Vis
Demonstrated product or technical support experience with a scientific/technical product line
Strong financial acumen and an understanding of its interrelationship to vendor sourcing decision making
Strategic skills with experience in developing technical product support strategies
Established ability to glean customer insights - experience in customer needs analysis
Strong project management and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to deliver commitments on time
Proven leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to work in partnership within and across organizations, geographic locations, and functional areas
Excellent written and presentation communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
