Chemours is seeking a Global Technical Service Manager to join our growing Thermal and Specialty Solutions team! This position will report directly to the Global Technology Sr Director at our Discovery Hub in Newark, DE location.

The Chemours™ Discovery Hub, a newly constructed 320,000 sq.ft. world-class R&D and Application Development research facility located in Newark, DE, has a Global Technical Service Manager position available in the Technology function. In Thermal & Specialty Solutions, we harness next-generation, low-Global Warming Potential (GWP) technology to provide market driven innovations to customers in the areas of Refrigerants, Propellants, Fire Protection, Foam Blowing Agents used in various systems for building and construction segments, and Mobile and Stationary heating and cooling systems. Our technical organization consists of experts in the areas of fluorine, catalysis, process development, analytical and formulation science, and application development to name a few. This highly visible role will lead a technical team that will provide direct customer technical service and product support to several Fortune 500 companies.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

+ Manages NA Technical Service function that serves customers in NA and LA, as well as provide support to the Technical Service teams in EMEA and AP.

+ Responsible for setting and meeting the function’s objectives and goals.

+ Responsible for technical support to the customer in the development and application of products, processing techniques, and resolution of various customer requests (application, specification, quality, etc.).

+ Coordinates the deployment of webinars, white papers, YouTube promotional videos, collateral development, and other publications in relevant industries

+ Participates in the commercialization of new technology providing support during lab scale sample analysis and field trials at customer locations, which includes the strategic growth commercial initiatives.

+ Provides support related to anticipating and assessing the impact on product properties and processing due to performance changes to manufacturing processes, raw materials, or product composition.

+ Monitors and evaluates project progress and results to determine improvements needed to meet technical objectives in regional account plans.

+ Consults with business on commercial programs to ensure adequate technical support.

+ Coordinates technical support for the technical Codes & Standards

+ Ensures company representation in technical committees, Codes & Standards working groups, and other forums relevant in the industry

+ Provides technical support to achieve the objectives of the IP and Advocacy strategies.

The following is required for this role:

+ Master’s degree in Science or Engineering

+ 5-10 years of experience in technical roles with expertise in technical service

+ Experience managing people

+ Demonstrated experience with chemical handling

+ Demonstrated experience in managing product quality or quality related systems

+ Demonstrated experience in working directly with operations, customers and/or distribution.

+ Ability to travel occasionally

+ Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills

The following is preferred for this role:

+ An advanced technical degree in science/engineering (PhD or equivalent years of field experience)

+ Demonstrated experience with fluorochemical handling preferred

+ Certification in a continuous improvement process (i.e. Six Sigma)
