Our Translational Sciences group at Incyte is seeking a Research / Sr. Research Investigator for Bioinformatics. This individual will provide analytical and Bioinformatics support for clinical programs, Translational and Discovery projects, and help develop/maintain our computing infrastructure. The successful candidate will perform integration and analysis of diverse data types, develop next generation sequencing (NGS) and other analytical pipelines, and collaborate with internal and external investigators for interpretation of biological results.
Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
Provide analytical support for translational data in preclinical projects and clinical programs
Analyze and interpret genome-scale NGS data sets (DNA-seq/RNA-seq/scRNA/CITE-seq)
Identify and evaluate pharmacodynamic and predictive biomarkers for translational programs
Provide technical expertise within a highly collaborative environment
Develop and maintain next generation sequencing pipelines for use by our bioinformatics group
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
Strong scientific background with an advanced degree in the field of bioinformatics, systems biology, data science, or biostatistics and at least 2 years of industry or related experience in Oncology (Ph.D. - and at least 2 years' experience; MS - and 3-4 years' experience).
Proficiency in R (tidyverse) and another scripting language (Python, Perl) required.
Strong Linux and Unix skills and experience with Shiny preferred.
Working knowledge of AWS cloud computing infrastructure and Nextflow experience preferred.
Working knowledge of public Oncology resources including TCGA, ICGC, CCLE, DepMap, cBioPortal, dbGaP, etc.
Experience with Oncology and/or ImmunoOncology data analysis preferred.
Experience in applying high performance computing for analysis of large omics data sets.
Experience with high dimensional data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence and statistics preferred.
Ability to balance execution of multiple tasks to accomplish program goals.
High level of emotional intelligence and willingness to work closely and collaboratively with other functional groups internal and external to the company.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
