Job Description
Description: Responsible for developing and supporting Community and Employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities with Non-Profit agency in the Wilmington DE area. Assists individuals with developmental disabilities in becoming more independent and engaged in activities in the local community. Community day activities include recreational, socialization, volunteering and employment opportunities. Persons applying need to have a positive attitude, energetic, self-motivated, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be a team player. This position implements the organization's mission and value by supporting individuals to make a positive change in their lives.
Skills: AA Degree in related field or 2 years of related work experience working with special needs population. Experience should include supports to people with arrange of Developmental Disabilities. Position requires a positive attitude toward the abilities of individuals with disabilities, good communication skills and the desire to engage people in activities that meet their interests and broaden their horizons. Requires basic computer skills. Valid driver's license with good driving record with reliable transportation. Must have an understanding and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
You must successfully complete clearance required by the Joseph R. Biden II and the Child Protection Act. Must be able to pass State/Federal required background checks including drug testing and TB testing.
