R&D Hardware Project Manager

Here at the Little Falls Site in Wilmington, Delaware, we have a multidiscipline team that envisions new technologies and brings them to fruition. As a hardware project manager, you will lead engineers and scientists to make valuable contributions and products for chromatography systems. Our instruments are used around the world for making sure our energy, food, environment, and medicines are safe.

You will be responsible for the overall operations in your R&D area. Your team will conduct basic research and development that is relevant to our long-term objectives and concerns. You will collaborate with other functional areas like marketing to develop strategies, customer relationships, and specific programs to achieve our business objectives. You will help identify customer needs for specific projects and programs and manage their development and execution. You will identify any issues that may delay product or project development and recommend the appropriate action to be taken.

Leads/manages people and team operations.
Applies understanding of teams' specialized area to define roles, responsibilities, and resource requirements.
Ensures that the design and implementation of functional policies, processes, and projects align to tactical business plans.
Autonomy to resolve technical and operational challenges within the department.
Resolves conflicting priorities; provides guidance to individual contributors on complex challenges and assignments.
Manages resources to implement tactical business plans and programs/projects.
Develops operational plans and administers budgets, schedules, and performance standards to meet department/organizational goals and deliverables.
Collaborates internally and externally on matters related to organizational goals or processes.
Leads projects or initiatives that have impacts within or beyond own team.
Leads project Triad (R&D/Mktg/OF) in project administration and planning.
Leads cross functional team in project deliverables and coordination.

Leads product verification and validation efforts.

Leads project through Project Lifecycle Management processe

Bachelor's or Master's Degree (engineering or science preferred) or equivalent plus directly relevant experience.

Minimum of 2-3 years' experience formally or informally leading people, projects and/or programs for entry to this level.
