The clean and prep department receives, shucks (mechanically), inspects, processes and packs clams and clam meat.
Must be able to work a variable schedule, Monday through Saturday, based on production requirements. Prolonged standing in cold or warm environments.
Must wear all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with workplace safety rules.
Must comply with and follow all applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Duties can include, but not limited to:
-Inspect pre-shucked or mechanically shucked clams on a production line for defects and foreign materials.
-Perform housekeeping tasks (floor wash downs, product shoveling, salt tank refill) as required by production type and plant standards.
-Weigh and load product for storage or shipment.
-Perform checks and counts as required by quality standards. (Must be able to read, write and perform basic math).
