Job Summary (Primary function)
The Forecasting and Analysis Manager is a member of the Market Insight and Forecasting team and provides innovative and value added customer and market insights leveraging a variety of data sources and sound analytical skills. This position will generate market insights that support effective performance measurement, decision-making, tactic development within marketing, sales, market access and other commercial functions. This includes, but are not limited to quantitative data analysis and primary and secondary research that guide key business decisions related to marketing strategy, forecasting, reimbursement / access, sales and life cycle management. The position will support dermatology indications post launch. This position reports to the Associate Director Forecasting and Analysis.
Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
Create strong and robust quantitative analyses that help inform strategy in collaboration with Product Strategy, Market Access, Medical Affairs and Commercial Operations team
Analyzing and evaluating IQVIA pharmacy script and medical claims data, such as NSP/NPA, NPA MD, and LAAD to assess product performance and market dynamics
Effectively communicate business performance and actionable recommendations and address business questions through the creation of automated visuals from secondary data
Create and manage automated dashboards within data visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Excel)
Competitive intelligence monitoring and reporting for key indications and products.
Provide analysis and input on forecasting assumptions and incorporate key metrics into tracking studies
Manage routine performance tracking studies for dermatology indications (ie. ATU, Chart Audit, etc)
Ensures appropriate compliance and legal requirements are incorporated and reviewed in a timely manner
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
Demonstrated quantitative experience Secondary (Prescription, Sales, Claims Data etc) research studies and analysis that delivers actionable insights for pharmaceutical products
Strong quantitative analytical capability and critical thinking skills
Robust knowledge of industry data sources for monitoring Sales and Marketing performance required (ie. NPA, NSP, FIA, Plantrak, patient longitudinal, EMR, Claims, etc)
Able to conceptualize and build an analytic plan, mine through data to uncover relevant insights and develop clear and concise presentation of results and compelling business recommendations
Working knowledge of programming (e.g., DAX, SQL)
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and PowerPoint required with ability to develop compelling data visualization and content
Ideal candidate has experience with analytics from a Marketing, Sales and Market Access Insight perspective as well as working across HCP, Consumer and Payer segments in the pharmaceutical industry
Proven ability to effectively work cross functionally
Flexible and nimble, easily adapts to changing priorities as needed
Independently and effectively prioritizes and manages requests in line with business priorities in a fast paced environment
Dermatology market knowledge and experience preferred
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field required (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, Engineering or related degree)
Minimum 2-3 years' experience in analytics role in the pharmaceutical/ biotechnology industry required
Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically to attend research, conferences and other events
