Job Description

ChristianaCare is currently looking for an energetic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to be part of our Urology Team! The selected candidate will assist physicians in providing patient care, this includes direct medical management through utilization of approved protocols and procedures. This position is Monday-Friday, no weekends, and will cover our Christiana, Wilmington, and Concord Pike office locations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assesses health status of the patients through complete physical examination and medical history.
Manages care of the patients within mutually agreed upon protocols.
Utilizes teaching/learning principles coupled with an expert clinical knowledge to promote and provide education to the staff, patient / family, and community.
Acts as liaison for patients, families, and health professionals.
Collaborates with Director and Practice Manager regarding administrative issues that require intervention and/or resolution.
Coordinates select projects/programs, including development and implementation of clinical pathways, guidelines and protocols, as assigned by the Medical Director of the Practice.
Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care to patients, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information, to identify patient needs and to provide care needed.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Perform Urodynamic and Uroflow Testing in the practice
Perform teaching and education for the patients and family on self-catherization.
Perform office injections for prostate medications as well as IM Testosterone and Intracavernosal injections (ICI) for ED

REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse -NP or graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program and have NCCPA certification
License or license eligible as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Delaware.
BLS certification
