Position Overview:

The Senior Specialist (Cold Chain & Logistics Operations) will support our global biologics cold chain external operations and our logistics partners interfacing between our Research & Development Division, our CMOs/External Partners (EPs) and our 3PLs in the movement and storage of our Biologics. The individual will work on all associated systems supporting the cold chain and logistics processes and network including shipping booking, coordination, and monitoring.

The role involves work also on shipping systems (Thermal Protection Systems), operational SOPs, shipping consumable inventory management and supply, drug substance inventory management and support of biologics global supply chain. Support for loss prevention, freezer-farm engineering coordination, metrics and support of quality systems (change control, deviations etc.) in the 3PL and logistics space are also elements of the role. The candidate is responsible for establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with our DP sites, CMOs/EPs and 3PLs, facilitating interactions with EP as well as functional area alignment and support.

The individual is also responsible for supporting the execution of the Supply Strategy within his/her area of Operations and meeting and reporting applicable financial and performance metrics. He/ she will provide support to the wider cold chain/logistics, supply chain, and shipping operations. A key focus will be on supporting an increased US footprint of CMOs/EPs and 3PLs as our organization manages increased volumes of Keytruda DS, and new pipeline biologics programs. The successful candidate will support end-to-end cold chain and logistics operations for these DS materials.

The candidate provides operations support within a team in the areas of:

Material movement (logistics) with Supply and Operations Planning & execution

Cold Chain (-40C/-20C/2-8C & ambient) oversight

Quality support

Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement activities

Dispute resolution (w/ appropriate escalation)

The individual will participate in periodic Business and Relationship Review Meetings.

Required Experience:

+ Bachelors of Science in Supply Chain or Logistics and 3 years’ experience in Pharmaceutical industry operations or Logistics Operations with internal or external manufacturing ; OR 5+ years of experience in relevant role (logistic, warehouse, supply chain) Pharmaceutical industry operations (preferably in biopharma)

+ Project management experience

+ Strong communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Experience:

+ Working with external parties (contracts, operational oversight)

+ Working with warehouse operations.

+ Supply Chain planning

Some travel will be a requirement of this position at approximately 10%. The position will be located in US, preferably West Point site, but remote work is possible from any US location.
