Manager, Security Chaos Engineering (Remote Eligible)
Capital One Cyber Chaos Engineering reduces cyber risk by repeatedly testing Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) to discover gaps and weaknesses in the enterprise cyber environment through Security Chaos Engineering and Purple Team exercise scenarios. This position works closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop controlled actions and evaluations containing multiple actions that simulate and emulate Advanced Persistent Threats (APT), to determine cyber detections, preventions, and response capabilities to malicious actions. This role will be primarily responsible for performing development and testing of malicious attack plans as they relate to Capital One's Top Threats.
The successful candidate for this position will be part of an exciting and dynamic environment to build and deliver industry leading Cyber Chaos Engineering capabilities to continuously protect and defend Capital One brand, systems and data. Cyber Chaos Engineering is part of the Cyber Operations and Intelligence program and assists with identifying opportunities to enhance Capital One's information security posture against a broad range of cyber threats.
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
Partner with Cyber functions to measure defensive capabilities through security instrumentation
Identify and implement process improvements driven by experimentation
Develop actions using identified TTPs and alternatives (Endpoint and Network)
Assess Capital One's detection and prevention practices and help drive corporate security standards
Develop malicious evaluations containing multiple TTPs that align to various APT and Nation State actors

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
At least 5 years of experience in Information Technology or Cyber Security
At least 2 years of experience performing penetration testing or responding to security threats on a Hunt or Response team
At least 2 years of people management experience
One or more of the following certifications: SEC+, GCED, GCIH or OSCP
3+ years of experience with threat modeling concepts and frameworks (CVSS, MITRE ATT&CK)
3+ years of experience with scripting or compiled languages
Experience developing and communicating technical content to non-technical audiences
