Job Summary:

This position supports warehouse operations and is responsible for receiving, loading, and unloading materials, products, and goods from incoming and outgoing trucks.

K ey Responsibilities

  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shippers to rectify dames and shortages.
  • Routes items to departments.
  • Maintains the inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Unload, inspect and sort freight by lot numbers.
  • Separates quarantine items from remaining stock.
  • Fills requisitions.
  • Verifies and signs incoming material receipts.
  • Operate company truck for deliveries within a 5-mile radius of the main plant.
  • Knowledge of packing materials and requirements, as well as an understanding of shipping documents.
  • Transport packaging of orders of various sizes, weights, and quantities and segregation for pickup.
  • Assist in loading trucks while verifying the shipment is completed per the Bill of Laden and shipping methods, including piece count.
  • Verify product received from production/warehouse is consistent with the accompanying paperwork with regards to item number, lot number, quantity, etc.
  • Able to run machinery in shipping and the warehouse inclusive of powered industrial trucks, stretch wrap machine, floor scale, and dunnage machine.
  • Ability to prioritize work schedule based on daily/hourly requirements.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and safe workplace.
  • Flexible hours based on department needs.
  • Pack products in appropriate containers for safe transit to both domestic and international customers. Ensure packing requirements of the consignee are met inclusive of governmental regulations.
